about
Before the Twin Towers were built in New York, the area was home to a multitude of small shops, many of them electronics components shops for the home hobbyist and tinkerer. The speech on 'The Underdog' is that of a few shop owners talking about their defiance in not allowing their businesses to be bulldozed to make way for these enormous monuments to commerce. Of course they lost their battle and the Towers were constructed and the rest, sadly is history.
One cannot help thinking that if they had been successful in saving their premises at that time, the hijackers on that terrible day in 2001 would have merely flown harmlessly between a few skyscrapers and done far less damage.
