Like the first track on this album, "Angels in the Sky", this song started life as an instrumental. Originally entitled "Birds eh? ... Tsk" (and you know who you are) it soon became known as "Interlude, Birds: (A)". The wonderful Helen Boulding visited us one afternoon and turned it into the haunting song that it has become today. Full of Mellotron enhanced by Gonzo's superb cello.
